Ode to Faith

Dude, just how cool is Faith? She doesn't just sit – she lounges. The way she walks, the way she talks, the way she dances and *fights* -
Amanda really sums it up, doesn't she?
This is so cool. Buffy would never let us do this. You are so cool. This woman is so cool!
God I love this character.
Yes, I just saw 'Empty Places'. I have a special fondness for this episode – I remember, the first time I watched, I really wasn't much into Buffy. I was trying my best to watch BtVS S1 because
msgenevieve said I should (thank you. I owe it all to you) – and *really* not getting into it. I was also intermittently watching S7 alongside AtS S4 (so much love), and not really liking it (though I loved Buffy even then). And then Faith appeared in 'Salvage', and *blew* me away. So I followed her into this show. Saw her interact with Buffy in a few scenes. Cut to 'Empty Places': Buffy and Faith on the porch after the mega smackdown. And *then*, suddenly, the OMGtehslash hit me. I haven't recovered ever since. *dreamy fangirl sigh*
The ending – Buffy walking away from her house, all alone – breaks my heart. It's not fair. It's not right. The argument in a way addresses some issues that needed to be addressed, but questioning Buffy's right to lead? Buffy gets to lead because she's the Slayer, because that's what she's been doing all this while – doing all the dirty work while others have been *depending* on her.
Also, Wood needs to be smacked. "I believe Faith had the floor here". Um, what? They were discussing strategy here – what gives him the right to barge in and making it Faith vs. Buffy, knowing their history, *knowing* that they just had a not-so-friendly encounter?
