Tweaked the LJ colours a bit.

Now, I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you all a very sad story.

*ahem*

Once upon a time, not too long ago (when I was young and innocent), I had a cat. Yes, I have kept many cats. But she was a special cat. She was a gorgeous white kitty with a beautiful, beautiful orange tail (she had the best tail I've ever seen). She was not the smartest of cats, because she had very little practical sense. But she was also a darling - she would sit on top of the television and look down as if she were watching; she would wake me up in the middle of the night with a slap on my face because she wanted to sleep on my pillow; she would grab my pen while I was writing and insist upon sitting on the very book I was reading... And one day, she was gone! We looked everywhere, did everything we could - but she was never found. Maybe she lost her way somewhere (remember, she wasn't a very practical kitty), maybe someone took her away. I have never been able to get over losing her. *sigh*

Sad story, isn't it?

There is a point to this story. [livejournal.com profile] scribbulus_ink asked a question on her journal about a story that you'd like to see written. My favourite story that no one has dared to write so far is a LFN/HP cross-over with Snape/Nikita (or Snape/Michael, if you prefer slash), involving love potions, the giant squid, Moaning Myrtle, and a number of fiascos. I have a feeling that if some kind soul writes this story for me, I may finally be able to get over losing my cat.

That will be all.

Harry Potter:

Hmmm. The one that immediately comes to my mind is a long, dark, angsty story featuring Snape and/or Hermione doing a Dr. Faustus (Faust). Snape/Hermione is optional. AU, because I doubt this can actually be fitted in canon.

LFN:

Post S5. Michael and Nikita in Section - dark, angsty and looong. No fluff, *absolutely* no happily ever after. Everyone trying to keep secrets from each other, everyone playing games and betraying each other - for proper reasons, of course. Bitter/bittersweet ending. Presence of Paul and Madeline is optional.

I can think of a few more, but I'll just post this one for now. *g*

So, what are your favourite unwritten stories?

Pity about the cat, but...

there is no way in hell I'm going to write a Snape/Nikita story.

Personally, I think Snape would have better taste. Madeline perhaps, but then, perhaps not! *g*

I do love the character Snape.

Awww....

Snape and Nikita would make such a lovely couple (although I don't think Snape's really her type). Temporarily, of course. Can't break my OTP for too long. ;)

I do love the character Snape.

Ah, I knew you had good taste! Do you read HP fan fiction as well? If you don't, do you ever intend to read any?

And you didn't tell me which story you'd like to see written. *g*

Movie Snape? Alan Rickman Snape? - Yes, I could see either Nikita or Michael in a brief and exciting adventure with him.

Book Snape? Interesting, but not sexy - to me, anyway. I would rather not think about him in the context of any amorous activity....cause - you know - it's all about teh pretty. ;)

As for a LFN story I'd like to see written? I've never really thought about it like that...but I think what I would really like to read is a canon LFN with a villian I could believe in...a la David Fanning. I could believe in him because he seemed like exactly the kind of guy who made a good living killing people and let it go to his head.

It would also be nice for Section to ultimately bring them down - because I hate the whole 'gee s/he took out Warf so now we know they're reeeelly bad' plot trick. In ST:NG it ended up making Warf look utterly incompetent and not at all scary. It also defeated the notion that the bad guy must be bad cause he took out Warf. How hard was that? Every bad guy did....

So - A gen story with a believable challenging villian that Section beats because they are actually very good at what they do; justifying their costs - to whomever is paying the bills and to their own people.

Unfortunately, even the actual writers had trouble coming up with believible villans.

For that I would even embrace M/N angst and - if it made sense plot wise - betrayal. *g*

But secrets and betrayal just 'because Section is like that' irritates me the same way secrets do on Soap Operas. If the only way to keep the plot moving is for someone to decide to keep secret what has no earthly reason to be secret in the first place and will only make everything worse with the inevitable confusion and delay in getting the truth out - the plot stinks.

Nell

Can't say I do.

Read HP fan fiction that is. Nor am I likely to, just doesn't appeal to me - love the books though.

There isn't really an LFN pairing I haven't seen which I'd like to - there are a few I'd like to forget about - but there are some stories I'd like to see.

Nikita-the-mole is right up there. I'd like to see an author tackle that canon predicament with a degree of intelligence and a little something I like to call logic.

I'd like to see more Quinn stories and I'd love to see more of Adrian and George in fan fiction.

Does that answer your question, Missy? *g*

Bring on the badies.

I'd love to see more believable challenging villians and less babies in LFN land. *bg*

Not even a little bit? There's some very good fan fiction out there. And not all of it is het or slash. *tempts*

I'm very happy with the usual Michael/Nikita and Paul/Madeline pairings, thank you very much. *g*

Oh me too! I liked your Quinn quite a lot, so how about you writing something about her?

And Adrian/George OTP4eva!!!!!11!1

Does that answer your question, Missy? *g*

Yes, but I asked you a couple more. *eg*

I usually *can* separate movie characters from book characters - in HP specially. Movie!Harry is not Book!Harry, and Movie!Lupin is most definitely not Book!Lupin. But after Alan Rickman, I can't really envision Snape in any other form. Well, maybe a little younger and leaner, but that's about it. *g*

It would be more along the lines of Snape being enchanted by Nikita's charms and therefore trying to strengthen his case by feeding her some love potions. Mmmm... I'd love some snarky Snape vs. Michael.

Oh most definitely! *adds one more to her list*

Well, the story I want to see written will have a very much evolved Michael and Nikita. The angst should be because of their personal problems - and not because "it's Section, it has to be like that". *g* Of course, the evolution has to be believable, and I should be able to recognise them as my Michael and Nikita.

Yes, I like the icon. The cat story boarders on sad. *wink*

And now, the new questions...

Not remotely interested in HP fan fiction - I'm sure there are some very good stories out there, but I doubt there are any that would meet my expectations.

I have actually read a few fan fiction pieces based on novels before and all most all of them left me cold. When the source material is a book, I generally find the writing inadequacies of fans entirely too glaring.

I've been thinking about writing a Quinn story and actually have an idea, but haven't yet found the time or the motivation to do so - I'll get around to it eventually. *g*

Yes, but it didn't really work. *sigh* Maybe I'll have to come up with a more pathetic story.

That's entirely true - especially in a huge fandom like HP, where good fics are hard to find. But we'll get you yet. *g*

Ah, that's great to know. You do realise that now that I know it, I'll continually harass you in the future about it? *eg*

I, too, am clueless about HP

although from having read so many LJ entries I have a pretty good grasp on who all the characters are by now. But I still have no real interest in the books, movies, or fanfic, I'm afraid, despite the fact that *lots* of people have insisted I at least give the books a try.

What stories would I like to see written in LFN fanfic? Hmmmm. I'll join in the chorus and say more mission-oriented tales, with good, challenging villains. But those are probably the hardest things to write (for me, too), so it's no surprise we don't see a lot.

More Adrian and George would be nice -- and not the way we usually see them, as sweet old matchmakers for M&N, but rather in their full, twisted, megalomaniac-yet-still-genius glory. I'll join you in that A+G=OTP4EVA!!!!!!! cheer, Swatkat. *veg*

Quinn and the TTs are also sorely neglected. (Hint, hint, Cyanide.)

Hmm...now that you ask..

..I'll second the more mission/more evil badies requests. Plus, I won't be shocking anyone by saying I'm a Michael fan, so I never get sick of him as the central character. But enough of the sickly sweet romances, I'd like to see more of him out of his comfort zone...a challenging mission, a profile that goes wrong, some sort of cover he finds uncomfortable. I see him as smart, resourceful and utterly ruthless..seeing how he handles one of those would be very entertaining.

Plus I know I'm a mutant fan here, but I'd really like to see a well-written look at Michael and Simone and how they managed to exist in Section. I liked her character (the little we saw of it) and I think the two of them together would be interesting. :)

I'd give anything for a juicy mission-based story that has Michael the man and not Super!Michael fighting the baddies. I want to know what Michael how that brain of his works. What does he do when he sits in his office working things out? How does he manage to put everything together? How does he overcome the difficulties? What does he feel like when he's doing this? How does he take the last minute decisions on field?

Any takers? *g*

I'd like to read a Simone fic too. Partly because I like Simone, and partly because I want to know what Michael was like back then. I *do* not want a sugary sweet romance, however (yuck!). And I'd like to see a human Simone for a change - not an uber-bitch or a sweet angel of mercy.

*puts on the record*

You don't have to be interested, just read the damn books!

/end record

Can you tell that I get to say this quite often? *g*

As for George and Adrian, they are such neglected characters. Especially Adrian - I hate it when she's portrayed as the Senile!Matchmaker!Granny. Adrian is the kind of woman who'd remain as sharp and alert as ever even at 90 (had it not been for the Gelman process in canon). I'd really like to see a story of Adrian founding the Sections. It'd be even nicer if Daddy is in it.

And I think I must be the only one who wanted to write a Madeline/Michael smutfic just for the fun of watching the reactions on the boards..

It would have to be a mission of course and Ops and Nikita would have to put up with it, seething in frustration..LOL
