You know I'm more than happy to make icons of fandoms I don't hang out in, but you'll have to point me to the screencaps. If you don't want to do all that work (send me those screencaps now!), here are some icon communities that you might want to check out:

snurchcons: Farscape
24_icons: 24
trekicons: Star Trek (Although I'm not sure which series. They all look the same to me. *g*)
ats_icons, buffyecicons: BtVS and Angel

If you look around, you might find some really good ones. Please do check out the rules of every individual iconmaker (credit, comment, etc) if you do take any. *g*

Also, if you're looking for some pretty non-fandom bases, look here(Australia), here(pretty random bases), here(nature), here(pretty random bases),here(animals), here(alchohol!), here(flowers), here(random places and flowers), and here(random bases - the colours are gorgeous!). Most of them are graphics intensive, so they may take a while to load. If you chose to take any, and want to add words to them, just let me know. A question for those of you hang out in the LOTR fandom - I saw an announcement for a Rohan ficathon in someone's LJ a while ago. I forgot to bookmark, so now I have no idea where to find that again. Any idea where I can find those fics? I would really like to read. *whine*

Shakespeare's birthday was on the 23rd. In honour of the day, I have been watching very interesting documentaries on the telly over the weekend, totally neglecting other important things that I was supposed to do.

Sister has glasses. After sufficient teasing (not that I'm done *vbeg*), I've consented to help her pick out a suitable pair. Really, what would people do without my impeccable taste?

But how do I take an icon and put it with my name? I figure it's nice to ask permission first..LOL..but I have no clue what people are talking about when they mention bases or how to transfer stuff.

Oh, don't worry!

It's very easy. When you log in, you'll see a 'Manage' option on the blue bar on top. When you put your mouse on it, you'll see a menu. Click on 'User Pictures', and then you'll find the options to upload the icon. All you have to do is save the icon in your computer, follow the instructions (click on browse, select the pic and click Ok), and you'll be done. LJ allows us to use three icons, unless we get paid. You could do that, stick to three icons, or do what I do - rotate icons. *g*

A base is an icon without anything written on it. You can use it as it is, or you can customize it in any way you want to. If an iconmaker wants to be credited in keywords, then just insert their name in the icon keyword. You'll know what a keyword is when you upload one. See this icon of mine? The art is by yukipon, so I've mentioned that in the keywords. You can see it here (http://www.livejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=swatkat24).

Does it help, or is there anything else you'd like to know?

FYI, your Maddy icon is also done. You didn't specify any season, so I just picked one of my choice. Would you like to add some words to it? Something snarky? Or would you like me to send it to you as a base?

OK...I have stolen Mr Jack from that link you sent me but I don't see the keyword showing up telling where I got it. I typed in Jack Bauer (art by Strutterms) and it doesn't show up.
