Nov. 30th, 2006 11:28 amIt's cold here. So very cold, and it's just November. (YES, I KNOW THAT SOME OF YOU LIVE IN PLACES WHERE THIS WOULD BE NOTHING, BUT DON'T RUB IT IN. REALLY). My roomie, in her infinte wisdom (she who doesn't know where the best drinking spots are, or which place serves the best tea, even after one and a half years), keeps telling me that I should enjoy the feeling and it's not cold yet and after I get a taste of the Delhi Summer, I will be praying for winter to return. Which, may or may not be true, but right now? It's cold. Back home, winter is a pleasant, pleasant season. I know how to deal with heat; I've seen enough of it. You sweat and moan and try to peel off your skin; you pray for the Nor'westers, and when they do come it's relief for a couple of days, and then back to the same old routine. At daytime the sun is blinding and you feel like never going out ever again; evenings are breezy, and you sit outside and hang out with your friends. Go for a walk, maybe. And it isn't that I haven't been to cold places, but then it was 'Holiday! Cold places! Whee!'. I didn't have to LIVE there. I didn't have to get up every morning and shower (I really hate people who don't. the campus is full of stinky boys now. it's disgusting). I'll be home in a week, and it will be good for a month, but I'll be back here in January and it will be oh-so-cold. Maybe I'll hibernate in my room for a couple of months until it goes away.

I would appreciate if they stopped torturing Cuddy now.

Date: 2006-11-30 02:56 pm (UTC)We're just on our way out of a cold snap, and it makes me happy. Good luck lasting until your vacation! Layers are the key! (I'm counting down the days, too: three weeks and two days!)

Date: 2006-12-01 09:20 am (UTC)I would've been dead without the layers. When you're going out at one in the morning for a cup of tea at place that's at least a mile away (don't ask)? It's the only way.

Date: 2006-11-30 03:25 pm (UTC)you stupid, st00pid viewer."[What? No, of course I'm not bitter where'd you get that idea?]
And House. OMG. No words. No words for my anger. I'll tell you what you can do with your Vicodin, you ho-bag.

And as for reality, I feel your pain. It's "cold, but all you East-Coasters shush"-cold. And I really, really sympathize about the boysnotshowering. Cause eww. Just... eww. Other than the frostbite, how're you enjoying University??

Date: 2006-12-01 09:16 am (UTC)I'm loving it here - except maybe the grind, which I'm sure I could do without. I love the place, and love the things I have been doing here - someday I should write a long post about it. I miss home, and will be glad to leave on Tuesday, but I'll also miss things here while I'm there.

I'm torn too, really. I heart the drama, but I don't want Cuddy to be sad! She wins at life and gets whatever she wants! *weeps*

Date: 2006-12-01 03:40 am (UTC)There's a way to deal with heat? I mean, with cold you just put more layers on and hover over the heater and under the covers as necessary, but the closest thing I have to a way of dealing with heat is to make like Cuddy and sit under an ice-cold shower until frostbite sets in. *hates summer so hard*

Date: 2006-12-01 09:06 am (UTC)It's possible that I will not be nearly as poetic as this about summer when it really is summer.

Date: 2006-12-01 09:55 pm (UTC)So no, I was not made to live in hot places. The one thing I hate about winter is the way some buildings and trains are heated so much more than outside. I leave my windows open all winter, because while being too cold can be unpleasant, being too hot makes me lose all control over myself in a very bad way.
