Jul. 8th, 2007 12:45 pm1. Ask them if they write with their left hand.
2. Ask them if they *really* write with their left hand.
3. Ask them why they write with their left hand.
4. Ask them how they write with their left hand.
5. Ask them how they write with their left hand and still manage to have a pretty writing.
6. Make them write with their right hand, and look surprised when they fail to hold the pen properly.
7. Stare.
8. Call another person and proceed to discuss this quaint new thing while the left-handed person in question is writing a really important examination.

Date: 2007-07-08 02:26 pm (UTC)I'm another leftie too and people have given me the same "oh, you have nice writing for a lefthander" comment too, with surprised looks on their faces.
My only quirk is liking to sit on the left outside of tables when dining out as I use my fork with my left hand too. Not sure if it's leftie thing but it's the way I was taught to eat by my parents. Someone told me once it's an English thing.

Date: 2007-07-08 02:46 pm (UTC)And lefties are cool to sit next to only if they're allowed to sit on the left side. When we are forced to sit on the right side there's only chaos and jostling.

Date: 2007-07-08 02:59 pm (UTC)Isn't it IRRITATING? As if left-handed writing = chickenscratch by default. No, I have a very nice writing, thank you very much.
I thought it was an English thing too. Although, I generally use my right hand, in the American way. Because in this part of the world, eating with your left hand in public (unless you're using both hands t o tear bread or something) will get you stares, so I'm conditioned tht way. Actually, I'm somewhat ambidextrous, because I can throw things only with my right hand, but I'll hold the racquet only with my left hand!
